Floral Tribute
Given in the Memory of Colonel Henry T. Sisson, from the Slocum Light Guard, which he formed in 1854 as the Providence Mechanics Rifles, which served as Company G with the Second Rhode Island Regiment during the Civil War. The Mechanics Rifles were renamed The Slocum Light Guard after their fallen Colonel who died during the first Battle Bull Run. The Former Colonel Elisha H. Rhodes of the 2nd Rhode Island was very much involved in the erecting of the statue of Colonel Henry T. Sisson. |
